The teams
Scaled vs. Advance
Phoenix Challenge encourages participants of all ages, whether experienced athletes or not, to tackle each Station with teamwork. However, not all participants will have the appropriate levels of strength, skill and conditioning to tackles the exercises. As such, teams can decide to enter the Event in the “Scaled” or “Advanced” level, allowing more participants to compete in a safe and fun environment.
What is Scaled?
Scaled workouts are modifications of Advance workouts. In other words, participants may adjust the weight (or load) and movements to accommodate their skillsets. Scaled workouts will prevent participants from getting injured and motivate them to engage in exercises they would otherwise not perform.
A few things to note about teams entering under “Scaled” level:
A team may finish Phoenix Challenge with a load and movements prescribed as “Scaled”. Participants may attempt “Advanced” movements and loads.
All teams that choose to perform scaled workouts will be ranked on the Leaderboard relative to all other teams that completed the scaled version of exercises. In other words, Scaled teams will not be competing against Advanced teams.
One thing to note about teams entering under “Advance” level:
Teams registering as “Advance” cannot execute an exercise with a load and movements prescribed as “Scaled”. Doing so will give an unfair advantage over other Advance teams.
